Jean-Edouard van Praet

President and CEO

Jean-Edouard (“J-E”) van Praet has spent more than 25 years in the Fintech industry prior to his current position as CEO and President of Brilliance Financial Technology, which develops cutting-edge real-time pricing and profitability SaaS solutions for the financial/banking sector. Before joining Brilliance he was CFO, Partner and Director of RIMES, an end-to-end data management solution provider for institutional investors, asset managers, and service providers. Prior to RIMES, J-E was an Investment Manager at SOFAER Capital, and an Investment Banker at Lazard Frères and Rothschild Wolfensohn. J-E is a Swiss-born Belgian national, and currently lives and works between New York City and Sydney.

Mark Gu Chen

Head of Product Development and Management

Mark has spent nearly 20 years in the financial services industry – with a great deal of that time spent working closely with banks’ middle and back offices. He has observed firsthand the weaknesses in existing pricing models and has dedicated his career to helping banks make these models stronger. Mark sees Brilliance technology as the ideal way for banks to start capturing important data that is normally lost, to gain a competitive advantage in the industry. He joined Brilliance because he believes there is a real market need for the DPX (formerly DealPoint) product. Mark prides himself on his ability to help each client understand how Brilliance can serve its unique needs. At Brilliance, he manages product development and works closely with clients and prospective clients to help them maximize the value of the DPX solution. Prior to Brilliance, Mark spent 2 years creating a new Market Data system at Development Bank of Singapore. He has worked as an Integration Architect at IBM, a Middleware Specialist at Merrill Lynch and more. Mark’s expertise ranges from the tech side of banking to the operational side.

Kevin Delmar

HEAD OF PRODUCT DISTRIBUTION

Kevin is a product management and distribution professional with over 20 years expertise in developing and positioning financial services solutions with leading financial institutions in Australia and Europe including Credit Suisse, Macquarie Bank, Pepper Money and Equifax.

Before joining Brilliance, Kevin held Head of Product roles for 5 years in both Macquarie’s Business Bank and Pepper Money, giving him exposure to lending products across SME, retail and alternative finance sectors.

Kevin holds a Master in Applied Finance and Investment through FINSIA and is experienced in developing and launching data driven, digital solutions that change the landscape of the companies he works for. With his product development and commercial experience, Kevin is leading the charge at Brilliance in ensuring our product positioning is optimized directly with leading financial institutions and through strategic partners around the globe.

Roelof Hoogenberg

SME, Client Implementation

Roelof is a subject matter expert and lead business analyst in Brilliance’s Client Implementation Services. He has over 20 years of experience with tier 1 banks, where he implemented a wide range of technology solutions in Treasury and Commercial Banking in Europe. Roelof brings extensive technical knowledge in software development and system integration to every client implementation project, where he plays a key role in designing the solution to optimize the bank’s processes and integration architecture.

Prior to joining Brilliance in 2019, Roelof was as software developer, business analyst, and solution architect at Rabobank and several telecommunication companies.

Michael Donaldson

HEAD OF OPERATIONS/CRO

Michael is a banking and technology executive and technology leader with deep technical, global financial markets and management knowledge accrued over 20 years’ experience. Covering a broad remit at Brilliance, spanning operations, risk and client delivery, Michael is keen to bring his knowledge and experience building trading, structured derivative pricing and risk management systems for firms such as Goldman Sachs, Macquarie and Bankers Trust, to Brilliance’s products and clients. A strong problem solver and strategic thinker who identifies business and technology opportunities and enjoys developing those ideas into market leading solutions.

Sangsu Park

ENGINEERING MANAGER

Sangsu has over 23 years of experience in software design and engineering mostly in the enterprise business and financial/banking software space. He has been leading the technical evolution and revolution of Brilliance’s pricing and profitability software across multiple generations to provide modern enterprise software architecture on the cloud and a cutting-edge real-time pricing and profitability engine. Before joining Brilliance, he worked across various financial/banking solution areas as an architect and engineer including branch banking, ATM, MCA/MCS, core banking integration, web trading, accounting integration and cloud CRM/ERP systems.

Christopher Grant

FOUNDER

Chris has successfully founded and grown a number of software companies and has been in the industry for more than 30 years. The development and delivery of software systems for financial services is his specialty. He understands the issues banks face, and he is determined to solve them.
